There’s a problem loading this menu right now. Then, two years later, my 8-y-o found it on the shelf a couple of weeks ago and could not put it down.
He asked his mother and his mother said Ginger because he looks like ginger and has quality of ginger. I don’t know but I percent don’t reccomend this book to save you guys from boredom. Their ability to manage their time, run freely, and be responsible is a distant memory for me I grew up in the 50s and 60s. One of the things I loved about this book is its innocent description of life in a small town for a child years ago or so. It was the best dollar they ever spent.

I was scared it would upset me because I am a dog lover, but instead it gave me chills for who the man in the yellow hat was who kept showing up.
We were so desperate for Ginger to get back home to his family. There’s nothing objectionable in the book, just Would have given 3 stars, but, hey, it’s a dog book where the dog doesn’t die at the end.
