He asked his mother and his mother said Ginger because he looks like ginger and has quality of ginger. I don’t know but I percent don’t reccomend this book to save you guys from boredom. Their ability to manage their time, run freely, and be responsible is a distant memory for me I grew up in the 50s and 60s. One of the things I loved about this book is its innocent description of life in a small town for a child years ago or so. It was the best dollar they ever spent.
